Who Should Have a Gun? Some Preliminary Psychiatric Thoughts
Abstract
Recent events have made concern over gun laws increasingly urgent. Psychiatrists may be called upon to aid in the preparation of legislation and its enforcement through clinical evaluations and recommendations. The authors present a relevant clinical example and suggested preliminary criteria for mental competence to possess guns.
