MENTAL CHANGES INCLUDING APHASIA IN A PATIENT WITH SICKLE CELL ANEMIA

The case is reported of a colored boy, aged 13, with sickle cell anemia who suddenly developed mental changes including aphasia. The occurrence of multiple small cerebral hemorrhages is suggested as the most likely cause of the symptoms.
