Psychiatry Residents as College Teachers: An Evaluation of a Training for Teaching Program

Questionnaire evaluation of a recently developed training experience within an overall program designed to prepare psychiatry residents to become better teachers revealed that the project was popular with students, resident teachers, and the college administration. Of the 60 students polled, over 80 percent rated their instructor and their course as above average or better. Eighty-five percent of the responding students felt that they had learned a great deal, and the residents reported that it was also an excellent learning experience for them.
