Psychotic Episodes Associated with the Use of Common Proprietary Decongestants

Three cases are presented in which there is a temporal association of the ingestion of decongestant compounds and the occurrence of acute psychotic episodes. The free availability of such drugs as nonprescription medication is questioned.
