RECURRENT PSYCHOTIC EPISODES IN MIDDLE LIFE
Abstract
1. A case is reported of a man who had schizophrenic reactions at 37, 41, and 43, and who recovered from each one sufficiently to do complex business and technical work without evidence of disintegration of his personality.
2. His prepsychotic personality was obsessive, compulsive, extraverted, and energetic, and each illness was preceded by definite situational problems.
3. After each illness, the patient went back to handle these same problems more successfully.
