The Uniform Anatomical Gift Act
Abstract
Recent advances in the use of human organs and tissue in medical research and therapy have dramatized the need for legal guidelines to achieve a balance between the expectations of society and individual rights in this area. The author describes the principal provisions of the Uniform Anatomical Gift Act, which was drafted to meet this need and has now been distributed to the states for consideration.
