Abstract
Dr. Thomas S. Szasz has stirred up a great deal of controversy by his claims concerning "the myth of mental illness." In this paper Dr. Thorne undertakes an analysis of Dr. Szasz' principal contentions, concluding that his arguments are extremist and largely invalid.
