Group Rounds Versus Individual Medical Rounds on a Psychiatric Inpatient Service
Abstract
The author conducted a survey of patients and of psychiatric residents who participated in daily group medical rounds. The group method, when compared with individual doctor-patient contact, insures daily contact, saves time, and utilizes the observations and support of other patients. The results of the survey indicated the method's Practical value and its general acceptance by patients and physicians.
