Encouraged by massive advertising, mothers expect compensation ranging from cards to expensive jewelry and automobiles. For the emotionally disturbed, Mother's Day focuses a year's frustrations, resentments, and feelings of neglect. The author presents four cases which represent the range of conflicts caused by this day.
