Classification systems are inherently imperfect. At best they represent a useful approximation of "nature." Yet reliable and valid diagnostic categories facilitate communication and clinical decision making and foster research. The work group welcomes suggestions, observations, and relevant data from interested clinicians and academicians as it strives to develop the best diagnostic approach to conversion disorder, given the current state of knowledge.
