We regret that an error was made inadvertently in a recent article by Stein and Kean, “Disability and Quality of Life in Social Phobia: Epidemiologic Findings” (Am J Psychiatry 2000; 157:1607). The sentences in error, found in the first full column, last full paragraph, last two sentences, should read, “An additional goal of our study was to examine functioning across the two subtypes of social phobia—the generalized and nongeneralized forms, respectively. Initial reports have suggested that the former is associated with more pervasive functional impairment....”
