Drug Use in Psychiatric Disorders of Children
Abstract
Drugs are equally important in the treatment of disturbed children as in the treatment of adults. Drug therapy modifies appropriate target symptoms and facilitates the other aspects of treatment. Specific indications and limitations are discussed, as well as the ways in which children's responses to major and minor tranquilizers and stimulanis differ from responses of adults.
