THE PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF CHEMICAL PARKINSONISM WITH UK-738
Abstract
In the treatment of the long term psychotic patient who will require large amounts of phenothiazines, especially those with a piperazine ring in the side chain, consideration should be given to prevention of the EPS. UK-738 has satisfactorily suppressed these disturbing symptoms without adding undesirable side effects of its own. It has also proven to be an effective agent in the treatment of manifest chemical parkinsonism.
