NON-STRUCTURAL CEREBROVASCULAR DISEASE AS THE SOURCE OF PSYCHIATRIC SYMPTOMS
Abstract
A syndrome, characterized clinically by rapidly fluctuating psychic, neurologic and vasomotor reactions and pathoanatomically by complex changes referable to the meningovascular system of the brain, is presented. The occurrence of this condition as an independent disorder and as a complication in the course of a psychosis and psychoneurosis is illustrated. The syndrome is interpreted as a combined effect of psychic stress and of a vulnerable vasomotor system.
