THE TOXIC DELIRIOUS REACTIONS OF OLD AGE
Abstract
1. Toxic delirious reactions in older people are quite common.
2. They probably can be prevented if the clinician will keep in mind the special factors in the handling of older people.
3. If a toxic delirious reaction does develop, it can be corrected by glucose infusion therapy. Simple elimination of the etiological factor will not correct delirious states in older people, as it does in younger people, in the great majority of cases.
