The Psychiatrist and Medical Home Care: Geriatric Psychiatry in the Harlem Community
Abstract
The author describes his experience as a psychiatric consultant to a medical home care program dealing largely with geriatric patients. His participation in the program included psychiatric evaluations in the patients' homes, case consultations, and staff educacation. The author also points out some of the additional possibilities for the further involvement of psychiatrists in such programs.
