Psychiatric Aeromedical Evacuation Patients During the Tet and Tet II Offensives, 1968
Abstract
The author presents a statistical study of all patients in the Pacific aeromedical system who entered Travis Air Force Base from January 1 to June 30, 1968, and compares these figures with those for the same period in 1967 to determine the effect of the 1968 Tet offensives. The considerable decrease in the percentage of psychiatric patients aeromedically evacuated indicates that the principles of military psychiatry are being carried out effectively, particularly in the Army.
