Some essential differences between the viewpoints of the civilian and army psychiatrists have been presented. Some of the problems and regulations which must be considered in interpreting literature that will be forthcoming concerning army psychiatry are herewith explained. It is hoped that this will prevent unwarranted generalizations or interpretations from a statistical standpoint and will enhance the value of the material.
