In this pilot study, the authors assessed 4-year outcomes for 18
schizophrenic outpatients with alcoholism who were treated in an innovative
dual-diagnosis program. Over half (61.1%) achieved stable remissions from
alcoholism. The mean duration of remission was 26.5 months.
