Interictal psychiatric morbidity and focus of epilepsy in treatment- refractory patients admitted to an epilepsy unit

Of 71 consecutive patients admitted to an epilepsy unit of a general
hospital, 32 (45%) were classified as having psychiatric disorders by using
the General Health Questionnaire. No differences were evident to support a
specific relationship between the type or focus of epilepsy and
psychopathology.
