International reliability of a diagnostic intake procedure for panic disorder
JB Williams, RL Spitzer and M Gibbon
College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University, New York, NY.
Test-retest diagnostic reliability interviews using the Upjohn version of
the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-III (SCID) were conducted with 72
patients at 13 international sites of the Cross-National Collaborative
Panic Study. Agreement on the diagnosis of panic disorder was very good.
For the subtypes (uncomplicated, with limited phobic avoidance, and
agoraphobia), agreement was fair to good.
