The authors found that 73 (8.4%) of 866 patients with chronic schizophrenia
in the Shanghai Psychiatric Hospital who had been treated with neuroleptics
had tardive dyskinesia. This low prevalence rate is possibly ascribable to
the use of relatively low doses of neuroleptics.
