Abnormal prolactin response to haloperidol challenge in men with schizophrenia
NA Keks, DL Copolov and BS Singh
Mental Health Research Institute of Victoria, Parkville, Australia.
Fourteen drug-free male patients with schizophrenia had a smaller and
slower prolactin response to 0.5 mg of intravenous haloperidol than 14
normal age- and sex-matched control subjects. This finding supports the
presence of dopaminergic dysfunction in schizophrenia.
