Emotional features of narcissistic personality disorder
DM Svrakic
On the basis of the existing data and his own clinical study, the author
provides an overall systematization of emotional features of narcissistic
personality disorder. The division of narcissistic emotions into primary
and secondary, positive and negative, is ultimately determined by the
internal (two-level) personality structure and the success or lack of
success in functioning of narcissistic individuals. The author introduces
the novel idea of pessimistic mood as characteristic of decompensated
narcissistic patients and analyzes it in some detail.
