Toxic reactions to the combination of monoamine oxidase inhibitors and tryptophan

The combination of monoamine oxidase inhibitors and tryptophan--a
recognized antidepressant regimen--has been reported to cause behavioral or
neurologic toxicity. The authors present eight cases of delirious syndromes
apparently attributable to this combination of agents.
