Parkinsonian side effects induced by a monoamine oxidase inhibitor

A 75-year-old depressed woman treated with the monoamine oxidase inhibitor
(MAOI) phenelzine developed a parkinsonian syndrome that remitted after
discontinuation of the drug. The authors discuss possible explanations for
this unusual phenomenon.
