Geriatric psychiatry training for the general psychiatric resident

Although there is a real need in variety of settings for psychiatrists
trained in working with older people, a large proportion of psychiatric
residency programs do not offer the opportunity for clinical experience
with this age group. The author stresses the need to include this subject
in the curriculum of residency training programs. He describes the features
of one program that offers comprehensive training in this area.
