Major and Minor Criteria in Schizophrenia

This study examines a population composed of schizophrenic and nonschizophrenic patients seen in the psychiarric emergency area of a medical center between May 1972 and July 1972. The authors determined the frequency distribution of their symptoms and from this distribution attempted to identify major and minor criteria that can be used to differentiate the schizophrenic syndrome from other psychiatric entities.
