The Relationship Between Background and Extent of Heroin Use

The backgrounds of individuals who had used heroin fewer than five times and those who had used it six or more times were studied to determine if there were any significant differences. The subjects were Navy enlisted men who were given an anonymous questionnaire. Significant differences were found: in general, more extensive heroin use was related to poorer relationships with family as well as more difficulties in school and in the Navy.
