The Polygraph in a Psychiatric Setting

The author discusses the use and validity of the polygraph in a psychiatric setting. By setting up a hierarchy of stress words—some of which are supposed to elicit an emotional response and some of which are not—the psychiatrist can determine specific stress areas by means of the patient's physiological reactions.
