Issues Raised in a Group Setting by Patients Recovering from Myocardial Infarction

The issues that five convalescent male heart patients most frequently raised during 12 weekly group meetings led by a psychiatric nurse concerned group process, current and future states of health, effects of illness on one's life, treatment of illness, the role of patient" and its effect on the family, history of illness, and medical care after discharge. Participants stated that the meetings had significantly influenced their adjustment to and acceptance of myocardial infarction.
