Use of Pyridoxine in Chorea

Dyskinesias secondary to L-dopa often appear similar to Huntington`s disease and to the tardive dyskinesias that are associated with prolonged use of phenothiazines. Pyridoxine can reverse dyskinesias and benefits of L-dopa. A group of patients with Huntington's disease or tardive dyskinesias was treated with pyridoxine, but no change in their movements was observed. The author concludes that pyridoxine does not ameliorate these two conditions.
