Differential Response to Treatment as a Function of the Changing Character of a Depression

The proper choice of an antidepressant in a given clinical situation is often controversial. The case presented points up the necessity for viewing each episode of a recurrent depressive illness in terms of both the psychopathology and the psychodynamics before choosing a therapeutic agent.
