Attitudes Toward Abortion

The Abortion Act, which recently became law in Great Britain, has clarified previous uncertainty about the legal grounds for abortion. As the author points out, however, it has also raised new issues involving the rights of the unborn child, reflecting contemporary views on what may be called the "gift of life."
