ESTROGEN TREATMENT OF PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC BRAIN SYNDROME ASSOCIATED WITH CEREBRAL ATHEROSCLEROSIS

For this severely impaired population of 37 patients suffering from chronic brain syndrome associated with cerebral atherosclerosis, treatment with 1.25 mg./day of conjugated equine estrogens over a period of about one year resulted in no measurable effect on psychological functioning or on mortality as compared to placebo treatment.
