Parenteral chlorprothixene produced dramatic sedating effects in ambulant patients. A dose level of 25 mg. is too high for these patients as it may produce extreme somnolence, blurring of vision, double vision, and prolonged periods of sleep. Because of the dizziness and sleepiness it is felt that this route of administration is not suitable for ambulant patients.
