Systematic desensitization is an effective therapeutic techniquefor some schizophrenic subjects. This neither refutes nor supportsWolpe's statement that psychosis is due to biochemical or physiologicalchanges. It simply reaffirms that all learned behavior can beunlearned, even with schizophrenics.
