Insulin therapy has proven superior to other available methods for the treatment of acute alcoholism. It shortens the period of disability and is highly acceptable to patients. In war time, a saving in man-hours and avoidance of replacements are important considerations, especially as the incidence of acute alcoholism is bound to be reflected in life. The method of treatment was described and the results indicated by the reported cases.
