To the Editor: Dr. Bernadt’s presumption is correct. It is difficult in today’s more enlightened psychoanalytic atmosphere to realize how stifling and controlling the intellectual psychoanalytic orthodoxy was at the time Alexander began to publish his modifications. It would be a complete misconception to interpret what I wrote as indicating "faint praise" for him.
