Two patients with bipolar affective disorder and a history of
bronchospastic phenomena experienced tremor during lithium carbonate
therapy. In both, metoprolol produced objective and subjective improvement
of the tremor without producing bronchospasm. Objective improvement of
tremor after use of metoprolol was documented by accelerometry. The authors
discuss the implications of these findings.
