Smoking and Alcoholism: A Brief Report

The author draws a correlation between alcoholism and heavy cigarette smoking. He interviewed 130 men who were hospitalized for withdrawal from alcohol and 100 men who were hospitalized for other reasons. Not only did a statistically significant number of the alcoholics smoke, but a significant number smoked heavily.
