The Care of the Psychiatrically Disturbed Elderly Patient in the Community

A study was made of elderly psychiatrically disturbed patients referred to the Yorkton Psychiatric Centre over a two-year period. The great majority of these patients were able to return home or to the care of their relatives following treatment. The author discusses the results with specific reference to the implications they may have for the general problem of psychiatric care for the aged.
