Abstract

A case history is presented which suggests that acétazolamide (Diamox®), here used in the treatment of glaucoma, elevated the convulsive threshold of a patient being treated with electroshock therapy for a psychotic depression. The anticonvulsant property of this drug should not be overlooked when considering a patient for electroconvulsive therapy.
