Abstract

1. Intensive psychotherapy can be integrated into the therapeutic armamentarium of a general psychiatric hospital which is not committed to a specific treatment method.2. The utilization of a second psychiatrist is necessary. This psychiatrist is the administrator, the coordinator, and the reality-interpreter.3. He must be flexible, experienced, good at communication, and constantly scrutinizing his own attitudes toward the patient and the others involved.
