Abstract

1. Narcolepsy is a borderline syndrome common to cases of both functional and organic brain disease.2. The pathogenesis is the same in both cases and consists of the release of a primitive type of sleep mechanism.3. Narcoleptic sleep is indistinguishable in appearance and electroencephalographically from normal sleep.
