A case of mental deterioration has been described which showed essentially the picture of a frontal lobe disturbance simulating Pick's disease. Radiography revealed extensive symmetrical calcification in the cerebral cortex. Neuropathological examination of the brain tissue obtained by biopsy disclosed calcification associated with iron pigment deposition in the cortical capillaries, reduction in the number of ganglion cells and a mild proliferation of the glia.
