with anorexia nervosa are bipolar and unipolar major affective disorder.
The presence of affective disorder, self-induced vomiting, or bulimia in
the patient is not predictive of affective illness in the relatives. Thus
these features do not define genetic heterogeneity within anorexia nervosa.
