Abstract

The author discusses some of the practical considerations confronting the clinician in the treatment of depression, including differential diagnosis and choosing among the various treatment modalities. He feels that the particular antidepressant drug chosen is not so important for treatment outcome as the proper dosage and correct timing, based on a careful, sensitive assessment of each patient.
