Abstract
1. The thymopathic factor (manic-depressive constitutional tendency) is one among a number of other dynamic factors in the production of manic-depressive and allied psychoses rather than representing an independent disease entity.2. Although hereditary and other more or less static constitutional factors undoubtedly play a very definite rôle, their influence is of a general nature. One gets closer to an understanding of the particular patient's illness by studying the way in which these largely non-specific factors have been woven into a personal constitutional pattern.Abstract Teaser
