Abstract
As a natural evolution of the community mental health movement of the sixties, the concept of human resources has developed as a service delivery organization in a number of states. Involving varying degrees of fusion of mental health, public health, welfare, and corrections departments, it has attempted to meet comprehensively the needs of health and social service clients. The author reviews the progress of this program nationally and as it was established in Georgia. The implementation of the human resources concept may result in a return to a more traditional role for the community psychiatrist.Abstract Teaser
